Overview

STEMFun Tutoring offers private or semi-private tutoring for students from 6th grade through high school, including college preparatory (CP), honors/AP, and test-prep material. Our personalized lessons are individually tailored to our student's needs and complement the material taught in their school curriculums. We design our lessons to not only reinforce the material covered on homework and exams but also to teach general quantitative and logical reasoning skills that will position students for success throughout their academic careers. Currently, we offer lessons in-person (for students living in the Bay Area) or online via Zoom. Contact us today to set up a free initial consultation and to learn about our summer lesson packages! In addition, you can find testimonials from previous students here.

Mugdha Phadke
B.S., Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics; M.S., Computer Science

Hello, I'm Mugdha, founder and tutor at STEMFun Tutoring. Having worked as an engineer in the tech industry for several years, I have a strong background in math and computer science. Aside from STEMFunTutoring, I have several years of teaching experience, originally as an after-school tutor with the San Jose School District, and more recently, as a mathematics tutor in Willow Glen School District. I also work as a computer science instructor through the Microsoft TEALS initiative.

As a tutor, I believe it is important to emphasize conceptual understanding (rather than just mechanics and calculations) because I believe that a thorough understanding of mathematical fundamentals is critical to future academic success.

Ishani Karmarkar
B.S., Applied and Computational Mathematics with Computer Science (minor)

Hi! I'm Ishani. I am a Ph.D. student in computational and applied math at Stanford. Apart from STEMFun Tutoring, I have experience as a teaching assistant for university-level mathematics and data science courses at Caltech, where I received the Thomas A. Tisch teaching prize. I also have many years of high school tutoring experience in the Pasadena School District. I'm passionate about learning and teaching mathematics and helping students appreciate all the interesting ways we can apply mathematics in our daily lives.
