1.               What is your approach to tutoring?

Answer: We believe in personalizing tutoring. We believe every student has unique learning needs. Our tutoring sessions are tailored to the individual's learning style, pace, and specific areas of difficulty. We assess each student's strengths and challenges and create a customized learning plan accordingly.

2.               What levels and areas of math do you cover?

 Answer: Our tutoring services cover a range of mathematics areas including algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and computer science for students from middle school through high school. A complete list of the subjects are listed here.

3.               What is your cancellation and makeup policy?

Answer: Our policy allows clients to reschedule a session with at least   24 hours' notice. If a session is missed without prior notice, it may not be eligible for makeup. Makeup sessions can be scheduled based on availability and should be done within two weeks of the missed session. We do not offer any cancellations.

4.               What is your payment policy?

Answer: Payment for services is due at the beginning of each month. We accept payments via Zelle transactions. You will receive a Zelle request and an email. Payments are due no later than the 7th of each month. You will receive one reminder during that time. Late payments may incur 10% for every missed week. Students with repeated late payments will be dropped after 3 reminders.

We also offer quarterly payments for your convenience. You will receive monthly updates with the number of remaining classes, with any additional classes scheduled during the month.

5.               Do you provide online tutoring sessions?

Answer: Yes, we offer online tutoring sessions using Zoom. Online sessions are as interactive and effective as in-person sessions, and they provide flexibility for students to learn from the comfort of their homes. We do require access to a camera and an Apple Pencil or XP pen to write on the whiteboard. The camera must be turned on for the entirety of the session.

6.               How do you handle homework and assignments?

Answer: Homework is an essential part of the learning process. Assignments will be provided after each session and are expected to be completed by 5 pm the day before the next meeting. Assignments are customized to students’ needs, and they may take up to a day to assign. This ensures continuous learning and progress. If you have difficulty with any assignment, please contact me before the next session for guidance.

7.               What is your policy on communication and contact?

Answer: Communication is key to effective learning. I am available for questions or clarifications via email, phone, or text.   Please allow up to  24 hours for a response. For urgent matters, please call me and leave a message. Please note that every communication with your student will be copied to you.

8.               How do you handle late arrivals to sessions?

Answer: If you arrive late to a session, the session will still end at the scheduled time. This ensures fairness to other clients. If you anticipate being late, please inform me as soon as possible, and we will try to adjust accordingly, subject to availability.

9.               Do you offer group tutoring sessions?

Answer: Yes, we offer both one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. Group sessions are smaller to ensure individual attention and are organized based on students' learning levels and goals.

12.            What materials and resources do you use for tutoring?

Answer: We use a variety of resources including textbooks, online tools, interactive exercises, and custom worksheets. We also encourage students to use their school materials to align our tutoring with their current curriculum.

13.            What if the teacher is not teaching from the textbook?

Answer: We will make every effort to follow the curriculum. If the teacher is going off the textbook, it is up to the student to let us know in advance so we can prepare the lesson.

14.            Will my student get help with the school homework?

Answer: Our goal is to explain the concept, so the student has a solid foundation. We encourage students to do their homework before the session and if they have any questions then we will help them to understand the concept which will enable them to complete their homework.

15.           How do you engage students who struggle with math or lack interest?

Answer: Engaging students who find math challenging is key to their success. We use practical examples, and interactive activities, and relate math concepts to real-life situations. Our goal is to make math relatable and interesting and to build a strong foundational understanding.

16.            How do parents get involved in their child's learning process?

Answer: We encourage parental involvement by providing regular progress updates and offering strategies for supporting their child's learning at home. Parents are welcome to discuss their child's needs and progress with us at any time.
